AC's new hairstyle

When I suggested to Anna Claire that we needed to get her hair cut, she said she wanted it short. So, today was the day. She was so excited to get her hair cut and cooperated with the stylist (a miracle!). After her appointment, she couldn't stop looking in the mirror. She kept saying, "My hair is so cute!" Who doesn't love a confident kid? Ha.
Here are a couple of pictures of the new style -enjoy!

Playground Dating

Because I don't want to forget the conversation I had with AC in the car on the way home from school today.....

AC: "Mom, today I was on the playground and a boy in Ms. Jill's class (the 4 year olds) came over to me at the swing and said, "Do you want me to be your boyfriend?"

Me: (trying not to laugh, but at the same time focus on the road): "What did you say?"

AC: "I said, 'Yes, do you want me to be your girlfriend?' "

Mercy. She's three. Her daddy is shipping her off to a boarding school tomorrow.

And one more for the record -
AC ran and jumped into her chair the other night, and we watched in slow motion as her head just barely skimmed by the coffee table. I said, "Anna Claire, your head almost met that table!" And she said, "Met the table? You mean like, 'Nice to meet you, table'?" Silly girl.

*********
Well, she's on a roll. Today, a dear friend from church brought AC a Buzz Lightyear water gun from the dollar store. AC looked at it and said, "Oh, I wanted one of these for Christmas, but I didn't get it! This is so great!" Really? As if she went without at Christmas. So, family, this year - all gifts for AC must come from the dollar store.

I'll update later with pictures. We're off to review the rules of dating....or something like that.

Memorial Day Part II

After a good nap, we were rested and ready to go to our friends' home for a little Memorial Day cook out. Before leaving the house, I did remember to get a quick picture of AC wearing her new flip flops. Thanks, Aunt RoRo!

AC and her friend, Hannah, were just chillin' while everyone arrived. You think it was a little sunny?

The girls were anxious to help fill up this little pool. Clearly, the water hose was not capable of just sitting in the pool, one of the girls had to be holding the hose at all times.

Once said pool was full to their liking, some of the kids jumped in.

And then, the baby shampoo was poured on a large tarp, the sprinkler was turned on, and the fun began! This huge slip 'n slide was more like a run 'n get wet for AC. She didn't really grasp the whole sliding part. In fact, most of the kids didn't. AC and her little buddies would run across the entire thing, and then slide the last 2 feet.

When it was time to eat, AC channeled her inner Goldilocks and tried to find the spot that was just right.
First there was this lawn chair...

Then there was the towel on the grass in front of my chair...(when she was eating the egg, of course. Gag.)

And then there was this table with her friends...

Towards the end of the party, there was a bubble machine and watermelon. AC thought this was one amazing party. It's the simple things.

And this next picture has nothing to do with Memorial Day and everything to do with her new pink Converse. She is so proud.
