Today, we went to New Orleans to pick up Elizabeth so that she could come stay with us for a few days! She has been on a road trip with friends since last Friday, so we were excited when she said they were coming through our part of the country. Her friends went on to Florida and will pick her up on their way back through later this week.
While in New Orleans, we ate lunch at the famous Central Grocery, home of the original muffuletta sandwich. The place is a tiny little grocery store with minimal seating at the back of the restaurant. The line is usually long, but we got there early. The three of us (AC wasn't much of a fan) shared one muffuletta. The sandwich was HUGE.
We then strolled on down Decatur street and visited St. Louis Cathedral. There was a fountain in front of the cathedral, and AC was excited to throw some pennies in (please notice the color of the water in the picture below....we didn't ask questions, but it looked shady). It was super hot outside, so we wrapped up our day in New Orleans and headed home. AC was worn out!
