Disney On Ice -Let's Celebrate came through Baton Rouge, so we decided Anna Claire was a great age to enjoy a show like this. Plus, I got tickets for $7 each - love it! Anna Claire was in Disney heaven! The girl squealed each time a character came out. But the finale included the characters from Toy Story, and she just about jumped out of her skin with delight! Rest assured, I took a ridiculous number of photos, but I am only going to post a few. You're welcome.
Here are a couple of cute Sunday pictures. The first one is on Mother's Day.
The second one is last Sunday morning. Please notice the silly bands on her wrists. This has become a staple accessory regardless of where we're going.
AC is in a baby doll phase right now. It comes and goes. These past few weeks, she has a baby on her hip most everywhere we go. You can usually find her walking through the house with a baby in a grocery cart, a stroller, or on her hip. She found the Boppy pillow I used when she was an infant, so she has spent some time rocking her babies using said pillow.
Last week we went to pick up the large foam sheets needed for our VBS sets. We took a trailer, but it wouldn't hold them all, so we had to load some in our van. While the adults loaded the foam, we told our girls to stay in the van. This is what we found when we finished loading:
While getting ready to go somewhere, AC wanted to blow dry (or drow bly as she says) her own hair. See the baby stroller in the bathroom with her.
While at the church one evening, AC was going between my office and Brad's. During one pass, she called out "Guys, come look!" She had climbed the wall and was glowing with pride. Great preacher's kid.
This past Friday, Anna Claire had her spring program at school. Greatness. On the way to school, I asked her where she would be standing. Without hesitation, she said, "I'm on the front row in the middle because I know the songs and the motions." She then went on to say, "Before I go on the stage, if I have any jiggles in me, I'll just shake 'em out!" I thought that was a good plan. This program just confirmed the fact that our child is a ham. She comes by it quite naturally (thank you, Brad!). Just ignore the red eyes in these pictures -silly lighting.
This picture is blurry but too cute not to post.
Here's a quick video where AC displays her charming personality at the end.
After the program, we were invited back to the classroom for snacks and an art show. Apparently all the artwork that had been sent home through out the year was just a sample of what they had been doing. Must buy storage container soon for all the art that came home. And no celebration is complete without a silly picture with your best little buddy at school. Friday night, this arrived in the mail from Gigi and Papa Bear.
Immediately, we had to begin the sidewalk chalk making process.
Step one: Mix in water. Shake chalk mixture.
Step two: Pour into little molds and wait (The making of silly faces is a necessary addition to this step).
Step three: Tap out sidewalk chalk.
Step four: Wake up on Saturday morning and begin "chalking" immediately. Yes, AC uses the word "chalk" as a verb. Ex: "Mom, can we chalk on the driveway this morning before breakfast?" or "I love chalking. It's so fun!" And she was happy in the picture, I promise. The sun was bright, so she didn't want to look up at me.
And finally - TODAY! :) A family in our church let us use their LSU baseball season tickets. The game was at 3:00PM. It's May. In Louisiana. Need I say more? Lordy. We were three little cute puddles by the time we left the game.
And how do you know you are at a baseball game in south Louisiana? Between innings, the 'game' on the big screen was "Which Crawfish is the Corn on the Cob Hiding Behind". The crawfish danced around, stopped, and then everyone started shouting a number for the crawfish. It was #3, and Brad guessed correctly. I couldn't be more proud.
The heat wiped us out, so AC didn't object to bed time tonight. She politely asked if she could start out in our bed. We obliged, and 5 minutes later went in to find this....Precious.
