Our Little Fish....Crawfish, that is!

Last Monday, we enrolled Anna Claire in swim lessons at Crawfish Aquatics. 8 lessons that ended this afternoon, and we so proud of her and what she was able to accomplish! The instructors are super positive and confident Christians who constantly remind the little swimmers to not be afraid b/c God is with them! Love it.
For the last class today, the parents were allowed 'on deck' to watch their kids and see what all they learned.
Here are some pictures from today:
There were only 3 little girls in her class. They were so cute chatting with one another and celebrating accomplishments together.

The day Anna Claire learned to float on her back, she came out of that lesson and said, "I'm just supposed to lay there and relax". Really? This made me laugh.
Swimming back to the steps.
This is Anna Claire's instructor, Miss Becca - a super sweet young lady who Anna Claire thought was pretty cool. Last night, I said, "Anna Claire, we'll run by Target and pick up a gift for Miss Becca." She quickly responded with, "I think we should buy her a green sign with lights." Of course. We settled on a picture frame with green accents :)

Here's a brief video of Anna Claire swimming today.

This Little Girl is Growing Up....

While my family was here for Easter, we did a little furniture switch-a-roo with my parents. They brought a trailer full of furniture, and they left with a trailer full of different furniture! One of our "new" pieces of furniture was a trundle bed for the guest room. We set it up, and that night, Anna Claire asked if she could sleep in there. We obliged, thinking nothing of it. Until the next night, when she asked to sleep in there again. This went on for four days before she finally declared the guest room bed her new bed! The funny thing is, there is a TV in that room that only gets a few channels, so AC has been going to sleep every night watching HGTV! We bought a princess comforter for the bed, and she's hooked. She sleeps so well in the new bed, but I must admit, it's hard to believe she is old enough to sleep in a "big" bed!
With the beautiful weather we've been having, we've been outside as much as possible. The other day, Anna Claire came to me and said, "Mom, can we chalk?" Translation: "Can we go outside and draw with sidewalk chalk on the driveway?". Needless to say, our driveway is rather colorful at this point. While we were out there, AC saw a couple of ants. She immediately went over to a little stack of bricks that we have and carried them one by one over to the scene of the ants. Something about building a tower to stop the ants. She even "chalked" her wall, and then sat on it, proud of her tower!
Today, Anna Claire started swim (or is it swimming?) lessons. She picked out a new swimsuit and was super jazzed about going today!
After we went inside to sign in, we waited for her instructor to arrive. Please tell me when she grew those long legs. Mercy.
When the instructors arrived (there were several), they stood by their name plate and then the kids were to go to their assigned instructor. In our case, it was Ms. Becca. Anna Claire went right to her and started chatting. I'm sure Ms. Becca knows more about Anna Claire and our family than she cares to, but whatever. I wanted to keep my distance and let her get comfortable with her new teacher, so this next picture is not the best, but you can only imagine what she must be saying!
Parents will be allowed to go out on the pool deck next Thursday for the last day of class, so I'll be able to post some pictures of her in the pool at that time. She must have had a good time b/c she came out smiling and said she wants to go back tomorrow.

Easter weekend

What a wonderful Easter weekend! My parents, sister, and grandmother all came in town to visit! I'm not sure where the weekend went, but I know we had a fun time!
For the Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday morning, I needed several balloons blown up, so even AC got in on the action. She was so proud of her little self.
Here are a few pictures before the Good Friday service:
1. This one is cute, even if it looks like AC is choking Gigi

2. This is "a picture is worth a 1,000 words" kind of picture

3. And this one is just a good picture

Anna Claire has figured out how to use my camera, so when I go to print pictures or update the blog, I find pictures like these:
Grandpa gave Anna Claire some bunny ears her first Easter, and she can still wear them!
You may remember this picture

And here's a funny picture of her this year wearing the ears
At the Easter egg hunt on Saturday, we played a few games.
Anna Claire looked so tall to me standing in line, waiting her turn.
When it was her turn, she was focused and determined to walk that egg to the cone. Just look at that concentration!
When it came time for the actual egg hunt, AC had a strategy. I don't know what it was, but she would pass up 50 eggs to get one egg. Some she would open, evaulate the contents and decide whether or not it was worthy of her basket. If not, she closed it up and put it back in the grass.

Here she is with a few friends after the hunt

Later that day, we all went to the mall. Elizabeth and I got our nails done, Gigi and Ma-Maw when shopping for something, and Papa Bear and Brad were on AC duty. When Elizabeth and I walked into the playland to meet up with the family, this is what we saw......twins, I tell ya.

On the way out of the mall, Anna Claire and Sissy tried on a few pair of sunglasses

Easter morning, we had to do Easter bunny baskets in two shifts - early and late. You see, Brad had to leave for church at 6:30AM, and there was no way this Easter bunny was getting up that early. So, there was a little basket waiting for AC when she woke up.

When we all got home, there was a larger Easter basket and a bike waiting for Anna Claire. Funny story - Brad said, "Anna Claire, what is that?" (pointing to the bike). She said (in the most pitful tone), "It's a princess bike, but I really wanted a princess scooter." We laughed, and it didn't take long for her to realize she was going to love this bike!

Heading back to the house

On Monday, we picked her up from school, took her to the church gym, and let her ride her bike around! I think the pictures speak for themselves - she loves this bike!

A family in our church was gracious enough to donate a playground to the church. Anna Claire has so much fun playing on it!

I've written about Anna Claire's basketball class often in this blog. Well, the year is coming to a close, and we got her individual and team pictures on Monday - greatness.
