Could It Be Fall?

Today has been fabulous in regards to the weather. When we got home this afternoon, we went straight to the yard! It was too beautiful to stay inside.
We took Carly (AC's baby doll) on a walk:
And she even had to take Carly's backpack. She said, "In case Carly isn't happy, I need to have her things with me." Of course.

I'm not sure what was going on at this point, but AC stopped to give Carly a pep talk.
And this is how we ended the walk. AC wins Mother of the Year.
After our walk, we went and played in the backyard. The people who lived here before us left a ladder going up to a big tree. AC was feeling brave and decided to climb up the ladder. Little monkey.

DWTS

AC is a huge Dancing With the Stars (DWTS) fan, so she has been counting down the days to the new season that starts tonight. She even had a particular dress up outfit picked out to wear during the show. When we got home tonight, she made score cards so she could play along with the judges after each performance.

Friday Night Football....

It's no shock that our family loves a good football game! Every fall, we try to make it to atleast one home football game for one of the local private schools where some of our teens from church attend. This is the first year we don't have a teen participating in some aspect of the football gam (player, drill team, etc.), but we still wanted to go to a game. We had fun tonight, but I just wish it had been cooler....maybe we'll go to another game this year in November! AC loves everything about a high school game - the players, the band, the cheerleaders, the people, the concession stand!
I looked back through the blog and found a picture from every year's football game:

And a good family picture! Two thumbs up for the successful self-portrait!

Play-Doh Plus

Our dear friend, Brandee, gave Anna Claire a new super Play-Doh set complete with 20 different colors, all kinds of shape cutters, etc! This will entertain AC for hours. I have to leave the room b/c I am a playdough purist, and her color mixing makes me cringe. Oh well.
She's saying "Thank you, Brandee" in this picture.

First Day of Dance

A dance school is coming to Anna Claire's school once a week and offering a ballet/tap class. She was giddy with excitement this morning in anticipation of her dance class! I'll be anxious to pick her up from school and hear all the details.

The Past Month

Time to play catch up on the blog! I can't believe I haven't updated in a month. We've been busy and the pictures that follow will confirm just that!
Right after school started back for AC, we went to Houston for a girls' weekend with my mom and sister.

After returning from Houston, we had the opportunity to keep our friend's 9 month old son, Grayson - such a cutie!
And then we were off to SNU for a weekend of fun! Brad is on the Alumni Board this year, so he had to attend some meetings. We also were able to help welcome the new students to campus. AC thought the college life was pretty fun!
The Alumni Board had shirts for everyone to wear. The kids' shirts said "A Storm is Comin' Class of 20??" AC also bought these glasses at Claire's, a new favorite store!
You will notice that AC is sporting a lovely temporary cast on her right arm. Before leaving Baton Rouge to head up to SNU, AC was doing somersaults in the sanctuary. She landed wrong on her hand and broke it in two places. We took her to the after hours clinci where they put this splint and wrap on her arm. When we got back from SNU, we went to the orthopedic who put a hard cast on her that she has to wear for 3 weeks. You will see the hot pink cast in most of following pictures - you can't miss it!
Anna Claire is in a fun stage right now - DRESS UP! It's the first thing she thinks of when she wakes up in the morning and when she gets home from school. She will play for hours changing clothes and trying on all kinds of costumes and accessories. Some ladies from church donated some items to her dress up trunk.
This past weekend, we headed up to Dallas for NazNite. We were able to stay with my sister and we weren't there 5 minutes, and AC had my sister looking for clothes that she could play dress up with! Elizabeth found a winner of a dress for AC to try on:
In addition to dress up, AC is really into her dolls right now. She plays with Carly (her Bitty Baby from American Girl) all the time. AC is a good little mom to her babies. We took her to the American Girl store in Dallas, and she was in Heaven! She studied every inch of that store!
And you can't go to Dallas without stopping by Sprinkles for a cupcake. We were also excited to see that Swoozie's reopened - such a fun store!
We were able to meet some family friends for a delicious breakfast at  The Egg and I.
And now I'm almost caught up on the blog....just a few more pictures.
AC before church yesterday morning - cast, silly bands, and all! :)
At the American Girl store, AC got a new shirt and matching outfit for Carly. She wore it to the church picnic today, and ofcourse, Carly joined us!
I didn't take many pictures at the picnic, but here are a couple:
And there you have it - our last month in pictures! Here's to staying up on the blog in the future!
