Marching orders....
Moving right along....yesterday, Anna Claire asked for a piece of chocolate. It was close to dinner, so my answer was "No." She immediately dropped to the floor and starting crying. Brad said, "Anna Claire, I want you to march yourself to your room and I'll call you back out in 2 minutes." She went crying the whole way. After the two minutes, Brad called her back to the living room and talked to her about why she was sent to her room, what her response should have been, etc. After he was finished, he said, "Is there anything you want to say?" We were thinking she would say, "I'm sorry" or something along those lines. Instead, she said, "Daddy, you said march to my room, but I just walked."......HAHAHA. Needless to say, it was all we could do to keep a straight face!

Where to Begin...
Whoa. We have been on the go since Labor Day weekend, so the blog has suffered. My apologies. Here's the rundown....
Labor Day weekend -we made a quick trip to see family. It was on this trip that Anna Claire informed Aunt Sissy that she wasn't going to share her ice cream because of the swine flu. Take that, Aunt Sissy. It was also on this trip that we were celebrating Grandpa's (Brad's dad) birthday, and when asked what his card said, Anna Claire held the card, and said, "You are doing great at being a grandpa. Love you. Amen."
We stayed in a hotel while in Dallas. Anna Claire decided she liked the view of the pool, so she moved this chair over to the window and sat there just watching the people while we got ready.
We also went to Ham and Eggs - a breakfast place that gets mixed reviews; however, we've always had a positive experience. Notice the pancakes in front of Grandpa - that is a single order and enough to feed the Duggar family. The biscuits and gravy in front of Aunt Roro is really just ONE biscuit that is the size of a small loaf of bread.
Since we had all the grandparents in one place at one time, we decided to take them to Toys 'R Us so that Anna Claire could show them some things she wants for her upcoming birthday in October. This is what she picked out! Go big, or go home.
And since we didn't eat enough at Ham and Eggs, we decided to have lunch at Twisted Root Burger Company, a fabulous hamburger restaurant in Dallas. It is a must stop if you are in the area. Loved it. We celebrated Grandpa's 60th birthday as well.
On the way back to Baton Rouge, Anna Claire was singing her new favorite song, Mighty to Save. She sings this song all the time. Recently, Brad showed her the video of Hillsong performing this song on YouTube, so she saw the people closing their eyes, raising their hands, and worshiping while singing this song. She now does the same thing.
We had some families over to our home for Labor Day, but for some reason, I have no pictures to show for this fun time.
Gigi and Ma-Maw came back home with us, so when we arrived in Baton Rouge, we hit the ground running. My mom says she always goes back to work to relax, and this trip was no exception! Anna Claire couldn't wait to take them to the mall to show them how she jumps. This activity has become a great reward for her. She will do anything to have the opportunity to jump.
We also went to Chick-fil-A (or "Chick-a-lay" as AC calls it) and it just happened to be kid's night! Anna Claire was impressed.
Gigi (with the help of Aunt Sissy) bought this funny little shirt for Anna Claire. When you ask Anna Claire what the shirt says, she will tell you, "Stay in preschool". Happy to know we are promoting a no drop-out policy early on.
Brad and I were able to get away for the weekend on a cruise with 7 other couples. We had never been on a cruise, and I will tell you, this will not be our last. This was the most relaxing trip I've ever been on. We left out of New Orleans on Thursday, docked in Cozumel on Saturday, and were back in New Orleans on Monday. Simply delightful and refreshing.
And here we are with Anna Claire before she went to school this morning...
